We connect with fellow IEs while we toured one of MN's most well-known biomedical manufacturers. This tour featured discussions around applications of Industrial Engineering methodologies through process observation at Boston Scientific:

• Layout optimization through discussion around capacity planning and demand management

• Pacing boards and work station optimization

• Automation in Biomedical Manufacturing

Discussion from attendees to share their own best practices in these areas will be included in the tour.

The IISE Twin Cities Chapter toured Target’s distribution center in Fridley. Fridley DC is responsible for replenishing inventory to Target stores across Minnesota and surrounding states. The group learned about the inbound, outbound and storage processes, while also learning about continuous process improvement in the building.
